The third step of pool care is “shock.” Only 31% of pool owners shock their pool on a weekly basis as recommended — a remarkable statistic when you consider how one easy step can reap so many benefits. Add shock treatment to your weekly pool maintenance program to eliminate contaminants that cause cloudy water, chlorine odor and eye irritation, prevent future problems and reduce the need for other chemicals. It— an effective means for achieving water clarity in all types of pools. A weekly shock treatment is recommended as part of your regular scheduled pool care program. Use more frequently after heavy use or rain.

Test chlorine prior to re-entry. Re-entry into treated pools is prohibited above levels of 4ppm chlorine when using Shock Xtra Blue and 3ppm when using other shock products due to risk of bodily injury.
It is important to remember that all our shock products should be used with a stabilized sanitizer as part of a regular program to prevent algae formation.
Note: Please read entire shock product label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and directions. Proper swimming pool maintenance requires the continuous use of an EPA registered sanitizer. An EPA registered algaecide should be used to control algae.
